Hello,

I'm sorry that your having that error. I think it can be fixed by adding my GPG key to apt using the command 'sudo apt-key add'. The key is labeled as 'Nathan Moore <nathanmoore@cox.net>' and has a Key ID of 62A30333.

My updated Linux OS kinda died and was not usable. I don't think Solarus works on Ubuntu 12.04 precise.

Solarus works on Ubuntu Precise. The one problem is that precise does not have any sdl2 packages.  You can get the required packages at the following locations:

https://packages.debian.org/jessie/libsdl2-2.0-0
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/libsdl2-image-2.0-0
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/libsdl2-ttf-2.0-0

Scroll down, pick the right architecture, then pick the closest mirror, and install the packages once they download.
Then, you should be able to install Solarus correctly on Ubuntu Precise.

I added attachments. Do I need other files to be able to install these?

I got the Windows version to work with Ubuntu Precise using Wine, but With Luna precise only the editor will work and that is super laggy with wine, but sound is amazing.

Edit:
Windows versions works perfectly in Ubuntu with Wine, but if possible...I'd still like a Precise version without compiling all the source files and I am not sure if it will work. Compiling those 3 files from source can be difficult because the .deb files won't work.

The temporary Fix.

I could not get the file to compile from source on Percise. I won't say it can't be done, but it is a difficult task. The deb would not install either unless I upgraded my Ubuntu 12.04 precise.

I used the windows version with Wine. I ran it with Windows XP Wine. It would not work with Wine Windows 7 for me for some strange reason.

I added the extracted folder to my home folder.

I downloaded Alacarte from the software center and made a shortcut to the exe.

I downloaded gExtractWinIcons from the software center and extracted the Icon from the Solarus exe because the "make link" shortcut would not work without it until I did that. I added the icon to the shortcut with Alacarte.

I searched for the shortcut made with Alacarte in the dash home and added the shortcut to my wing panel and launched it.

Success! Nice and smooth with no glitches yet.

Edits and tips:
When you go through the Solarus tutorials and get to the save game part. The saves go in the Wine users section and not the Linux home, but the error file ends up in the Linux home.

Also, I added the Royal XP theme to Wine and added an image to the post. Solarus looks pretty now.

Long live Solarus!
