Game art & music / My Tiles
October 24, 2017, 04:57:37 AM
Just today I decided to start to work on a tileset, I spent a couple hours on it and I just put together a map showing all the tiles I have made so far. It is still in a very rough draft phase and I will probably make changes often. I appreciate all criticism and help, so feel free to add your input even if you have no experience whatsoever. One final thing is that I am going for a GBC kind of vibe, the tiles are based on the Oracle games and links awakening.

General discussion / RetrOrangePi
August 15, 2017, 11:20:57 PM
For an april fiols joke a few years ago, there was the Solatrix, a raspberry pi powed handheld game system. While poking around about single board computers(something inhave been interested in for much longer than solarus) I found Orange Pi, a single board computer that crushes the pi power wise. So like any rational person I looked up an emulation OS and found RetrOrangePi, emulation station formthis computer. While on their website I found a ports section... and look!! At the bottum it is solarus. I just thaught that was really cool and was wondering if anyone has tried it out. It says it is inclded so it wouldnt be hard to get working

It was made using solarus and it looks as if it is a short game but completed. Does anyone know anything more about this??

General discussion / Solarus 1.6
May 06, 2017, 01:14:26 AM
I like to play games using solarus by downloading the source code and adding them manually to solarus. However recently when downloading the most recent ROTH SE source code, it gave me the prompt telling me I needed solarus 1.6 to run this. Have I somehow missed the release for this and is there a way I can get 1.6?

General discussion / Zelda Fan Games
March 14, 2017, 12:06:59 AM
PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE WERE DOWNLOADED FROM ANYWHERE I COULD FIND THEM ONLINE, SO I CANNOT ASSURE THAT THEY DON'T HAVE VIRUSES. I DON'T THINK THEY DO, HOWEVER THEY STILL COULD.

For the Past few months I have been collecting many completed zelda fan games and now I want to share them for other people to play.

https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bw-lpJvCSDp-aHFSTWV3RmRXTU0

The fan games in the folder are all finished, so you can play any of them. The unpacked zelda folder is all the unpacked files from stuff I downloaded looking for zelda fan games, there are some other games in there however they don't play like normal zelda games, unlike all of the ones that are in individual folders. If you have any questions just ask I am sure I left out some information.

General discussion / Zelda the Spirit World
February 03, 2017, 06:49:26 PM
While looking at ffomega's Absolute hyrule tileset I saw how you mentioned Zelda: The Spirit World as a fan game. I looked it up and found this link on it:

http://z1.invisionfree.com/CPPlearningcommunity/ar/t4654.htm

It ends up this game was completed and he put a download link on that web page. However the download link doesn't work. If anyone knows or finds a link that works that would be awesome!

Thanks, Ezka

General discussion / Pictures in posts
January 28, 2017, 01:58:02 AM
During my short lived time here on this forum, I have posted a few pictures. Now I use the attach option and choose the .png or what other file I want to show. However I have noticed that those only show up(at least for me) when I am logged in. Otherwise it just looks like I am a crazy dude talking to a wall. However I notice that there must be another way to post an image because I often browse these forums without having been signed in and actually see pictures. So my question is:How do you post pictures so that anyone can see them?

Thanks, Ezka

Your projects / Dark Ages
January 05, 2017, 04:08:34 AM
Was looking around at the ZFGC wiki and found this game:

Dark Ages:http://wiki.zfgc.com/Dark_Ages

Does anyone have more information on this? Because from the looks of it, it seems to be made using solarus.

Your projects / Remap of Zelda 1
December 29, 2016, 12:38:13 AM
Hi guys, recently I was interested in actually learning how to use the solarus editor rather than just playing games people made with it. Because of that, I am currently working on remapping all of zelda 1: the over world, dungeons, and secrets. I will only be making it so you can walk around and explore, however I may(small chance) try and turn it into a remake further down the line. I have currently made a tiles for the over world, and mapped around 20 game screens.  I will keep you guys updated and how it goes.

Development / How to create a tile set
December 27, 2016, 03:08:25 AM
I am interested in creating a small zelda game with solarus. However I want to make a custom tileset for that game(possibly based off of another zelda game). I was wondering if someone could help me out here. I know that this will be really difficult, but I would like to try. Thanks for the help!

Zelda Return of the Hylian SE / Fire temple difficulty
November 03, 2016, 08:40:39 PM
Sorry I am posting so much, I am just sick and this is all I am doing. In the fire temple, the puzzles you have to use medusa to light the torches are very rage inducing. For the first one, which is where the medusa is in the middle and the torches are on the outside, the time it takes for it to fire and hit you is almost instantaneous, making it to the only way I could defeat it is by getting hit once, making it so I don't fall off, then while I am immune to damage it shoots through me to hit the torch. For the second one, it is the same, whenever you get hit, it hits you off and takes 3/2 hearts ( damage plus fall ). It is just to hard. The thing that bugs me most however, is that when you die, you have to do the whole thing over again, get to the room ( about 1 minute of lighting torches ) and then redo the puzzles. I love how you remade the game in solarus, but this part is just way to hard.

General discussion / Mercuris Chest and OLB
October 31, 2016, 07:58:48 PM
So I downloaded the dev for Mercuris Chest and OLB and was looking at all of the awesome maps that were in it. Is their a time frame for the release of these two games? I am so exited.

So I recently downloaded children-of-solarus-master, nphard-zelda-master, and Project-zelda-master and want to try them out. I have downloaded solarus-1.3.1-OSX and Solarus Quest Editor Package 1.4.5. However whenever I try to open either of those applications nothing happens. How could I play those games on older versions?

Thanks

I know that it is possible to set it up on raspberry pi through retro pie. However i am a noob with code and the git hub site that shows the code I dont know what to do with. Could someone explain how to set up solarus engine on retro pie?

Do you know if it is possible to use solarus on a raspberry pi.
