Heureux de voir un autre projet sortir! J'ai quelques questions. Allez-vous également publier le premier chapitre? Et cela sortira-t-il en anglais?

Désolé si cela est cassé français, im utilisant google traduction.

Thanks for the help with the images, in the past I've tried that but when I pressed preview nothing showed up, must have to actually post for it to show :P

As for the graphical issues, I can't remember them all but I'll make sure to screenshot them if I do. The main one is in the sewers(might be named something else, I'm bad with names) with the water. The in corners don't seem to have tiles so it is just two tiles overlapping that look weird. And It also seems you are missing a tile for the out-corners.

That's all I can remember for now, but there is one other thing id like to report. In the following image you cant walk across simple plants like weeds and Lilly pads, I find that a bit strange.

Id also like to agree with Diarander in that a map would be super helpful. I don't think you have to make a perfect replica, in fact I feel like something that looks handmade would go more along with the story.

EDIT: Can you guys see the images, because I can't
EDIT2: Thanks for your help with the images, I feel so accomplished right now.

After lighting up the lighthouse I ended up dying outside of it, I then respawned stuck in this wall.
Its nothing too serious and was fixed by restarting the game but thought you should know none the less.

UPDATE: I am loving it so far, the graphics are beautiful besides for a few things that look off, and I'm loving the music. I have a few more questions though.

First off I'll report another error I ran into while playing, I am bad at describing things but it shows what I am talking about in the attached screenshot.

Second off is a question about controls, I am at the point where I need to place monster bait but I can't find a way to equip it, in the menu the only options are Save and Continue, Continue, and Quit. I might just be totally missing something, so feel free to make fun of me if I am.

One final question for anyone, I can't find a way to embed images in posts, I have tried googling it and I just can't find how to. If anyone could help me out on this that would be great!

Wow, the pixel art is so beautiful. It makes me cry when comparing to my own. ;D
Keep up the amazing work!

Edit: after watching the trailer a few times the music is already stuck in my head. Love it!

For the mapping problem, I can't help you directly because I have almost zero experience with ALTTP tiles. However, I can recommend that you open up a completed quest and look at the tiles from there. Referencing other maps in completed quests can help you find the tiles you are looking for.

As for the music, I think Solarus only uses OGG files, so MP3 wouldn't work. For converting it, just google "MP3 to OGG converter", I'm sure you can find some using that. Make sure you do some research first though because some audio converters give out malware. If you need more help converting the files at the highest bitrate just send me a pm.

For sprites, I am not as educated in that because it has not come time to work on that in my game yet. I can, however, refer you to the tutorial Christopho made on making a sprite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ajYOpUoFR4

Good Luck,

If the overworld of LTTP was remade in solarus it would be the same as the original game. Im pretty sure that is 4096 pixels by 4096 pixels or 256 by 256 tiles.(16 by 16 tiles)

Just a little update saying this project is dead. I learned all I could from this and stopped working on it a while back. I finished the overworld and 2 dungeons which are fully explorable. It isn't that interesting but I wanted to upload what I had in case someone wanted to build off it. This is far from perfect but enjoy.

Game art & music / My Tiles
October 24, 2017, 04:57:37 AM
Just today I decided to start to work on a tileset, I spent a couple hours on it and I just put together a map showing all the tiles I have made so far. It is still in a very rough draft phase and I will probably make changes often. I appreciate all criticism and help, so feel free to add your input even if you have no experience whatsoever. One final thing is that I am going for a GBC kind of vibe, the tiles are based on the Oracle games and links awakening.

For an april fiols joke a few years ago, there was the Solatrix, a raspberry pi powed handheld game system. While poking around about single board computers(something inhave been interested in for much longer than solarus) I found Orange Pi, a single board computer that crushes the pi power wise. So like any rational person I looked up an emulation OS and found RetrOrangePi, emulation station formthis computer. While on their website I found a ports section... and look!! At the bottum it is solarus. I just thaught that was really cool and was wondering if anyone has tried it out. It says it is inclded so it wouldnt be hard to get working

If you have two rows of hearts already, which I am assumin you do, ther is a villager in the southeast corner of the southern continent who will give a map to you. If you need more help, just ask.

While looking around on youtube I found this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbkl2N87DHo

It was made using solarus and it looks as if it is a short game but completed. Does anyone know anything more about this??

General discussion / Solarus 1.6
May 06, 2017, 01:14:26 AM
I like to play games using solarus by downloading the source code and adding them manually to solarus. However recently when downloading the most recent ROTH SE source code, it gave me the prompt telling me I needed solarus 1.6 to run this. Have I somehow missed the release for this and is there a way I can get 1.6?

I love how he breaks down the dungeons. I have seen everyone of those videos he has made. I definitely recommend checking them out.
